Career History

Mark Grant, MD, board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology, and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, has practiced in Columbia, Missouri since 1993. Over the years, he has had the pleasure of serving thousands of mid-Missouri families, providing fetal diagnostics and ultrasound, and caring for those with high-risk pregnancy. In 2007, he joined his wife Dr. Laura Grant, in cofounding Women’s Wellness Center.

Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men and Women

While his 30-year career as a high-risk pregnancy specialist has been rewarding beyond all words, Dr. Mark has made the decision going forward to limit his practice of obstetrics, and concentrate more on providing specialty care for those in the second half of life. This shift in focus has been largely motivated by personal experience with hormone replacement therapy, and the dramatic improvement it has made for his own health and vitality. Dr. Mark believes hormone replacement therapy to be essential for both men and women, yet these treatments have been misunderstood and controversial for decades. It is the goal of Dr. Mark’s practice to eliminate confusion surrounding questions of hormone therapy, providing men and women with the opportunity to feel and function at their highest level, and prevent diseases of aging that are associated with hormonal depletion in midlife and beyond.

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Dr. Mark Grant is an expert in pelvic ultrasound, and provides consultation with regard to the clinical significance of each patient’s ultrasound findings. He is skilled in ultrasound evaluation of pelvic floor dysfunction, the root cause of many chronic pelvic pain conditions, chronic sexual or genital pain, and chronic bladder pain or interstitial cystitis. Pelvic floor dysfunction is also the cause of bladder and bowel control problems: urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary urgency/frequency, and fecal incontinence. Dr. Mark and his team provide the utmost compassion and professionalism in caring for women with these intimate conditions.
