How is a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner different from an OB/GYN Physician or Internist?

A Women's Health Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse who has an advanced nursing degree and additional training to provide comprehensive health care to women throughout their lifespan. Like a physician, the nurse practitioner takes detailed health histories and performs physical exams. She provides prenatal care and manages women's health problems, including writing prescriptions when indicated. She also focuses on health education and counseling.

At Women's Wellness Center, the roles of the nurse practitioner and the physicians complement each other; and all of these providers work together as a team to provide you with the most complete care possible.
